Be Thankful, and use your Imagination

Good morning (actually afternoon) everyone! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

I love Thanksgiving it is one of my favorite holidays – you can eat all you want (and not look like a fatty because you are supposed to eat a lot) haha and most importantly, you are together with your family.
Yesterday, I was thinking of how thankful I am, more so than any year. Sometimes we take our family for granted and we underestimate the power it has over us. We know that they make us who we are and they have become a part of each and every one of us.  It makes us feel like we fit in somewhere and that there are people out there who love us. Everyone wants to feel needed and wanted by one another and you can always get that feeling from your family. They will never turn their back on you and will always be there for you – in the worst times and the best.
Sitting around the table with my family made me feel so happy. I knew that I would always have them.   Even some of my friends have become my family.   I can tell them anything and I know they won’t judge me and I can laugh with them forever. They give me the best advice and make me feel confident when I’m near them.   Some of those girls I have know, and others I just meet maybe two years ago, but what it comes down to is not how long you knew them, but the memories you’ve shared with them and the times you’ve had together. You know that you can get each other in a way that other people can’t. You can tell what each other is thinking without saying a word. And you can trust the advice that each other gives because you believe them.  You become like sisters.
This year I am thankful for all of these people – my family and close friends. They get me through the rough and pick me up when I am down. They make me laugh until my stomach hurts and share the happiness I have. So thank you for your friendship and being you. Love you all!

Now, last night I watched Eat. Pray. Love.
My friend had told me she abs looooved it so we decided to watch it last night.
It was such a good movie! I fell in love with the places she went and the settings she was in! Rome is amazing and India was so culturally intriguing and Bali was beautiful! I’m obsessed with traveling when I get older. I want to go so many places and experience different foods and cultures.  I want to travel to Kensington Place in London and find a cute British guy ;), watch the sunset over the acropolis in Greece and see the Parthenon and eat their amazing food,  climb up to the top of Machu Picchu in Peru, see the bustling streets of Tokyo, and relax and meditate in Tahiti. Why these places?  Because they have such a diverse culture and share a balance in harmony and peacefulness. And besides, who can say they’ve been to highest mountain in Peru?! Haha

The movie sparked such an interest in me in the places she traveled, but even more it was so inspirational.
Some quotes that I really took to my heart:
"Do not look at the world through your head; look at it through your heart."
"If you could clear you all that space in your mind, you would have a doorway. And you know what the universe would do? Rush in."
"We call it "dolce far niente", the sweetness of doing nothing."
God dwells within me...as me."
And I was reassured, maybe my life hasn't been so chaotic, it's just the world that is, and the real trap is getting attached to any of it. Ruin is a gift. Ruin is the road to transformation."
"Balance is not letting anyone love you less than you love yourself."
"To lose balance sometimes for love is part of living a balanced life”

Read them however you want with your own interpretation or even use them as inspiration.
Who knows…. You might find yourself answering some questions that you thought there would never be an answer for….

With love and thankfulness,
Kara

What's your style?

Recently, I've been thinking.... what is my style?  We all have our "individual style". For some it is easy to define, for others, it might not be because they might not be sure what to call it.

I find myself changing my style throughout years, as my mood changes, and even as different trends start coming in.... but I still don't know what exactly my style is ...

But in the end, I'd rather have it that way because I like to change things around and mix things up a bit every once in a while .... I'll start posting pictures of what I wear and outfit ideas that I like/ have so maybe I can see what my style really is like

Peace, love, and style changing,
Kara Jae

Anything is Possible

I absolutely looooove this picture! Alice In Wonderland has been one of my favorite movies for the longest time. I remember when I was little, I would watch the cartoon version and see Alice walking through the forest and I loved all the colors, creatures, the cute little house that the rabbit lived in, and the fact that she had to eat cute little desserts to change her size. haha

After the new one came out I saw it as a harsher, almost darker view of wonderland (or as they call it "underland"). The forest and story line almost had a bitter take to it and it wasn't the happy - go - lucky version that I once knew. However, I still liked the new one and thought that it was pretty interesting how they could change the story of what we once knew as "Alice in Wonderland" to a completely different feel and mood. Out of curiosity, I bought the book and read through it. I found out that there was other information that was left out. I concluded that each Alice in Wonderland story has its own twist to it - no matter which way that may be. And no matter what, I will still love it either way haha

Anywho, back to the picture . . .

Out of everything in the entire world, I think that the strongest power that anyone can have is that of the imagination. We use that power to dream and think of whatever we want freely and whenever we want too! Next morning, try and think of 6 impossible things before breakfast or just at any random point of the day. They can be silly, they can be serious, they can be outrageous or they can be mystical, but knowing that you can have the power to make up whatever you want is the best part! It is tons of fun :) haha

I'll start you off with one:

Happy dreaming and impossible thinking,

Things that you NEED!

Have you ever wanted to get something really bad and couldn’t let your mind forget about until you had it? Well, these are some items that you will need to help you get through  Fall 2010 so go out and get them!

To Start:

1.      I absolutely loooooove Katy Perry! She is such a nice person, has the coolest style ever, and is an AMazing singer!

Just the other day I was listening to her album teenage dream and fell in love with EVERY single song!!!
Go out and buy the album today! You will not be disappointed, I PINKY PROMISE you!

2. Shoes, Shoes, Shoes OMG shoes haha
Military print and motorcycle boots are being worn so much recently! Motorcycle/army boots are
cut either ankle length or a little higher like in the middle of your leg. They go great with jeans and
sometimes it's better to wear them instead Uggs all the time (they are comfortable, but blahhhish
sometimes haha). Military print is also dominantly worn this year. Cute jackets and sweater designs are
modeled after the print.

You can find the boots at Nordstrom or the military printed jackets in forever 21!

3. Lip gloss
OMG I'm obsessed with my lip gloss! Its from Palmer's and it's the Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Butter with
the Dark Chocolate and Peppermint Flavor! Palmer's - Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Butter, Dark Chocolate & Peppermint - 1 ea It's the most amazing lip gloss I have ever had and i use
ever single second  I can! I buy them in bulk... which reminds me I think
I"m on my last one! I have to go get some more
P.S. The flavor smells so heavenly it's unbelievable haha (my favorite smell)
You can buy it at any drugstore like Walgreen's, CVS or Duane Reade

4. Movies for warm comfortable nights :)
One of my most favorite movies of all times is The Goonies! I can watch it every single day lol seriously.
Any who, rent the movie if you haven't seen it, but another good movies is Letters to Juliet! I saw it with a friend at the movies and fell in love with the whole movie! you HAVE to get it!

5. And last, but not least... da da data . . .
A snuggie! haha ( i know, i know, you thought it was going to be this great amazing thing that you could tell everyone about because you just got it and its the best and blah blah blah) ... Well, it is!

they keep you so warm and comfy! I went to a sleepover last night and I brought my snuggie and I cuddled up with it and fell right to bed! It is like a heat maker it keeps all your heat in and keeps you sooo warm! Go out and get one! (Mine is in pink :) haha)

So tonight, go out and get Katy Perry's album and dance to it crazily in your room,
Buy a cute pair of motorcycle shoes and a military jacket so you can be stylin' Fall's newest trends
Get Palmer's lip gloss to save your lips from this cold weather so they aren't chapped
and Cozy up with a warm snuggie [any color of your choice :)] and  watch Letter to Juliet

Have a wonderful evening darlings!

Kara :)

Funny Stuff . . .

Well this is funny….
I was thinking about this today and found it, well, strange/funny/weird haha
One person who I truly admire is supermodel,  Miranda Kerr. She has done so much  between traveling from one country to the next in a matter of one week, writing a book (which is called Treasure Yourself  – I can’t wait to read it!!), doing interviews and photo shoots every other day and she also just got married! But around June, it was announced that she was pregnant! She is taking it easy and still going to events, but she isn’t following her regular hectic schedule of events.  It is amazing that she can balance all of it together! But not only is she pregnant, so many other people are too! It's crazy!

Last night, I was watching E! and heard that Mariah Carey was pregnant ... I saw pictures of Gwen Stefani pregnant (and she still looks pretty) and makeupartist, Kandee Johnson is having a girl!
I just thought it was odd that so ,any people are pregnant at the same time ... It made me think though, so many people are lucky to have healthy babies, but shouldn't forget about the people who have newborns that aren't healthy.
New Borns in Need
is a charity that takes care of sick and needy babies and their families. It would be nice to donate some money to them if you can or just go on the best site so you are aware of what the charity does... Please follow this link below to make a donation and to see where the money will be going. It's truly inspiring . . .
With love and hope for healthy babies,
Kara
