Long over Due

This post has been long over due.  I have been busy with things that I actually forgot that I had to post something. I have a tumblr and I've been pretty occupied with that and I constantly update it so if you have one follow me! (sheer-luck.tumblr.com)

BUT last time I posted it was September. I was upset, annoyed and super stressed and the stressing hasn't gone away but everything else is great! I applied to all my colleges and I'm still waiting to hear back from many--we will see what happens in January and February of next year.

Christmas just passed and it was great! I had a lot more fun this year than any other I don't know why though....maybe because I'm older? Lol but anyway, the day after Christmas I went into the city with a friend to go shopping and that's always a good idea after the holidays because of the sales! ahh it was amazing. We went everywhere, Soho, Herald Sq., Times Sq., Union Sq., and Bryant Park! And of course I had to buy things!

I got a make up brush from Sephora....it was a angled brush that you use for your cheeks. These types of brushes are always good to have when applying make up so you can use them for applying bronzer. Most of the time, you can use bronzer to outline the features on your face like cheek bones, the sides near the temples of your head, your nose and chin. It also gives your face a warmer look and makes it pop with structure outlines.  I also got a lip salve from Anthropologie (I love that store)it was in the flavor of Rosebud and now I just can't imagine my life without it... lol just kidding, but honestly i will be taking it with me everywhere.  We stopped at forever 21 and I had things in mind I wanted to get and look for, but it was that awkward season where they only had sweaters and cardigans out nothing really else. So i ended up getting a sweater that is pink and dark blue striped and a plain grey cardigan that I know will go with anything. I also picked up a ring that had a small jade stone on it.... it was preeeeetty. Anyway I really just wanted to look for circle scarves, aka infinity scarves. I want like a million of them I think they are so warm and comfty and cute looking. You can wear them with ANYTHING. I tried to look for some in different colors that were neutral, but let alone look for colors, I couldn't fine the scarves themselves! So I will still be on the look out for them!

Alright, that's really all for now...it feels good to blog again! I'll try and keep my blog more current - maybe a new years resolution? haha okay

Bye guys, have a great day!!
Kara Jae :)

P.s. thanks to bobby for reminding  me that I had a blog and haven't posted since September. Shame on me! hahah

Drifting

So it's sad. My life is consumed of school. With college coming and applications due, all the time the only thing that is on my mind is school. I'm ready for that to stop. PRONTO

It stresses me out just writing about it. But I'm trying to be really good and study so hard for my grades I put my social life on hold just for a month or two so I can do well. I hope it pays off because now I just feel like I'm drifting from my friends. Sure, we talk on the phone, but it's not the same as being with them and sharing funny moments and going out. It's not killing me, but it makes me feel distant and I hate feeling like that. I'm sure this is only for a little while though and will wash away after all of this is done.

Otherwise, I guess you can conclude that I haven't gone shopping in a while and haven't been able to put looks together lol I"m still up with trends and modern looks with magazines and everything but of course I haven't given myself a place to wear them ha. Wonderful.

Tumblr keeps me alive so If you have one follow me, I follow back! http://missny09.tumblr.com/

(I just had to do a plug right there ^) haha

So now that I've been staying in I have been making myself more regimented in what I eat and hopefully it can make up for the lack of sleep I get (yesterday I got to bed at 3am from writing a law paper).

Every morning I drink hot water with lemon and eat a normal breakfast. My cheat day is on Sunday, but if I was really good the whole week then I'll cheat on Saturday and Sunday. I'm playing volleyball now so I have practice everyday after school so I'm constantly working out and eating. I still do eat and I try and cook for myself when I have the time (psh time!!?)

If you are a foodie like me, look at this website and you will die http://smittenkitchen.com/
it's AMAZING

Okay, now it's anatomy and phsyology review time!
I missed blogging and will try and keep up more often :)

Love,
Kara Jae

M.I.A?

So for the past (uhh how long?) couple of days I've been M.I.A.

                                                          SO SORRY about that

Really I am. I promised myself that I would be so much better at posting now that I don't have to post about anything in particular and honestly I don't know what happened, but I still continued not to blog. Gosh, I have really got to get myself (and blog) together! I'm ashamed! Maybe when school starts I'll have more things to tell or write about, but as of now I'm just trying to soak in the last couple days of summer before school starts. These are like freedom days because even when you have off during the school year for weeks or days at a time, you still know that you have to go back soon. It's not fun. But this year is my senior year woaaaah and I'm super excited. Not really for the homework, but for senior privileges and our senior sweaters (yeah we get them). Not that the privileges are unbelieveable, but nonetheless, I waited for 4 years to be a senior and to be at the top of the so called "food chain" and now I'm the cream of the crop with the rest of my class. Ahhh it's great!

But ugh talking about school so early makes me get sick. So my summer has been awesome. Actually, I just came back from a vacation down the shore to a little place right before Cape May (all you jersey people know what I'm talking about). It was so peaceful and warm and I even got a tan! I'm so proud of myself! After 5 days of just laying out in the sun SO HOT i'm not excatly a different ethnicity, but have offical tan lines! Thus, this time must go down in history. seriously. When we were down there though, I took so many walks and passed by beautiful houses. One I fell in love with...it's amazing. It was such pretty flowers and landscaping and a huge wrap-around-porch. It's honestly my dream house. It has close to 3 balconies (yes, you heard right) and bamboo shades around the porch so incase it rains or you want to keep the bugs out, you can just role them right down. Of course I couldn't see the inside of it but I'm sure it's a dream. I took some stalkerish pictures of it hehe so y'all can take a look. I also took some pictures of two other houses that looked so adorable I couldn't pass up. They look like they are from a movie or something.

This was one of the houses that I thought could be from a movie

Same one

I love this side of the hosue with the staircase

The side of my dream house

This is still the side, but you can see the bamboo shades lowered down

This is inside the wrap around porch. I was never able to get a picture of the actual front of the house, but people were there so I would have looked a little stalkerish taking a picture of them...right?

Alright I hope you enjoy these pictures! They are beautiful to me and I hope they are to you too!

Love your beachy and tan friend,
Kara Jae

Harry Potter Coming to an End...

The end of an era...

My Harry Potter story starts like this:

I'm not a pure blooded fanatic, but I do have to say I am a fan. I used to watch the Harry Potter movies with my dad when the first came out. However, due to my young age I could never really get into them. I feel like it was a combination of the bloody/Erie/confusing - ness of everything plus the strange words and things that happened that were unexplainable added to my dislike of the movie. Eventually at around the release of the 5th movie, I just stopped watching them. It was too much to understand especially not having read the books at all. A couple years later, one of my friends (i found out) was a Harry Potter fan. (one of the obsessed ones). LOL
She made me watch all of them again and try and give them a chance. I did and loved them. I couldn't wait to watch the next one. So, I made a goal to myself that I would watch all of them until I got caught up in order to see the one that just came out! Obviously I did :) haha
I went last night to the midnight showing and it was amazing! The fight scenes were intense, the courage was astonishing and the characters were so epic. I loved the ending and it was truly a great end to the series!

If you haven't seen it, GO. haha no really GO and see it! It's something you have to do if this has been a part of your childhood ...

With Harry Potter greatness lol

Summer Hairstyles

Hello lovelies!

This summer is super duper hot! We constantly feel like we have a need to put our hair up, but sometimes we want to keep  it down a pretty. Trying to achieve those "Beachy waves" and "perfect updo" for summer can be tricky. But, I've finally found the perfect slide show of hairstyles that are perfect for the summer and along with them a blurb of directions on how to get the look! enjoy ....

This is something I have been proud of for a while and haven't been able to show anyone yet! I love different hairstyles and matching them with the outfit that you are wearing at a certain time.

I went out a couple Sundays ago and put my hair in a stylish ponytail. I love the way it came out and took a picture of it!

I just teased the top part of my hair, pulled it back in a ponytail, and then wrapped extra hair around the scrunchie holder to give it a more finished look.

Simple, easy, and so stylish all at the same time! Have fun and enjoying trying it out for the summer :)

Kara Jae

Check it out!

I picked up these sticker nails from CVS. They are so cool... I got zebra and cheetah. They are super easy to put on and they give you such a stylish summer look for your nails :)

Happy Nail Decorating,
Kara Jae

Early?

In my family, most people don't know the word early. But I DO it's just that it looks like I'm late because the rest of my family is haha.

Anyways, the whole point of this is that I think I found a possible graduation song for my graduation next year! It's called At the beginning from the Disney moive, Anastasia... listen and tell me what you think!

With Love and beginningness,
Kara Jae

I've realized..

So I've just realized how horrible I am at keeping up with posting.

          \\  Really, I am. \\

I was so excited to get a blog, but I think once I labeled it as a fashion" or make up" blog I couldn't just stick to one thing and was feeling pressured to just talk about those things. So it took me all this time to realize that no one was really holding me back (so surprising when I'm the only one writing about this LOL) and I could do whatever I want.

SO BE IT.

I am writing about whatever I want and I have a feeling I will be posting much more often after this!

Signing off with a different perspecitive: this is Kara Jae...out

Peace

I'm NOW a senior, but not quite....

AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

No way. It's not possible. How could I have possibly made it through one of the most difficult high school years of my life? (not like you would know the answer), but really... I don't know!

Maybe a little luck, some prayer, or my friends, but I am done. Classes have ended and now all that is left is finals and regents. For the next two weeks I will be studying my brains out hoping that I pass my 4 regents and 3 finals!

After those two stressful weeks, I am freeeeeeeeeee. No more studying for regents!! All I want is summer. And I want it now. Right this second. I want to be at the beach with my friends. But before all of that on the 24th school is officially over. Then the next day I am traveling up to CT to see Katy Perry with my friend and cousin (cannot wait seriously I can't contain myself). The the Tuesday I come baaaaaaack - it's PROM!

I have never been to a prom; I've been to pre proms for best friends and cousins, but never my own lol that's awkward.

I have my dress all picked out, but I'm not posting anything until the day after. My hair and makeup, the shoes and jewelry - all that is going to be after it's all over. The following day I am heading down to seaside to have a 1 year reunion with my friends since last year. We all went for my friend Vic's birthday and are going back to revisit the beach and boardwalk. Aww so many memories I will never forget and I can't wait to make more :)

So pray for me please, or do a lucky dance SOMETHING so that I do well on all my tests....

I will keep you updated my loves,
Kara Jae

WOW

Wow. I haven't posted in a while! I miss posting things and writing about the current anomilies im my life. Yes, look at that, I used a big SAT word right there.

Speaking of SAT, I took that test on Saturday. It's nice to know that one little test can predict your future. What college you are going to get into, scholarships, and so on. No pressure at all. 0_o

Today is the start of the last week of class. It's nice to know that one of the most stressful school years is coming to an end. Yet, next week, we have regents and finals. I'm not even going to think about it because of the stress it brings me. *sigh*

On a happier and more anxious note, it was announced yesterday that next year's out - of - country trip is to Greece and Turkey!!! I am beyond excited right now! Greece has been a dream and I can't believe next year I will be in Greece. My parents were more then willing to let my sister and I go. However, since the trip is only 7 days, my family has decided to stay an extra week! OMG i can hardly breathe. Truthfully. We also might head down early as well and meet up with our school there. I am so excited and can't wait for next year...which will hopefully come fast!

So i better get back to studying, which would be a great idea right now.

Talk soon lovelies!

Nerves

So tonight is a big night. Well, not THAT big, but big in some way. I am part of the glee club here at shcool and tonight is the concert.

TONIGHT. I used to get nervous just when I said it out loud, but just writing about it makes me nervous.

Ughhh the stress of getting dress in our hidieous and ugly ever-so-lovely costumes and singing for an hour and a half (count that people.... 90 mins) under bright, glaring lights that make you so hot that you almost faint off the riser is not fun. And yeah, guess who is on the TOP riser with NOTHING behind her so incase she falls she has the hard and painful soft floor to land on ......

                                ME

Yep. Ohh the joys of being a memeber of glee club. Now granted, it's not as bad as you think. We have some good times, laugh a lot, learn different songs, and make tons of memories. Plus, dressing up in our coustumes is always .... interesting. Especially when you are trying to figure out where a bow tie goes.

But, on a less confusing note, I'll fill you in on some of the songs we are singing. We start out with Walking on Sunshine/Halo (like the mix from Glee), then go to a really pretty song called Angels Amoung us. Next is the Beattles Medley (which has actually grown on me and has become one of my favs), Pink Panther (which I hate - I refuse to sing it; I don't like the badaba daba doooos), a wicked medley and a couple others that I probably just forgot. So, it's safe to say that we will be doing a lot of singing and oh I forgot, the director adds dancing in too. So we will be doing a lot of everything.

Now, the only problem that has come with all this work is that there might possibly, maybe, on the slight chance, be an issue with the fact that I don't know some of the moves. See, I'm not a dancer. Not the slightest bit. The only time I actually dance (if you even call it dancing) is at parties with blasting music that can't stop you from moving.

So here's whent the Nerves come in. Yeah, i'm nervous that I will forget a couple of motions. I'm praying that something will come over me and I'll magically just know all of the steps. But you know, that the probability of that happening is slim to none. Luckiy, I'm not directly in the front so that's a plus; if I don't mess up maybe no one will see me....

Oh well! What ever happens, happens, I guess.

So wish me luck! Hopefully I won't make any mistakes and these jitters will leave in a hurry!

P.S./Warning:
Incase you hear a loud BANG druing the perforamnce, don't fret, it's probabaly only me that fell off the risers. You might hear some ouches and ahhhs from the audience, but have no fear because I will be sure to do it in harmony! 0_o

Kara Jae

The fairytale of a Lifetime

There are honestly no words to describe how beautiful the wedding was. Yes, I DID get up at 4am just to watch the guests arrives with their magnificent fascinators (So cool)! I think everyone was waiting so long for the moment to see Prince William marry the girl he loves, and finally the day arrived! Her dress was stunning. It was very traditional with work from the bottom of the dress moving upward. I was in love with the waist and up. The lace sleeves and plunging neckline fit the bride and princess-to-be perfectly! The day seemed perfect and to end the public ceremonies, they sealed it with a kiss! (Actually TWO!) haha

I wish I was some sort of royalty just so I could be invited to the reception! Maybe someday......
BUT while I wait for that to happen, I'll set my hopes of meeting a British boy and falling in love with him instead!

I feel so lucky because normally most people read about fairytales, but I witnessed one today! AW!

Sweet dreams...
Love, your future princess, (hopefully)

The Royal Wedding

So yesterday I sat down to listen to the soothing voice of Barbara Walters as she narrated the 20/20 special of the royal marriage!

*Insert Sigh here*

I wish I was marrying a prince (actually take out the marrying and put in: knew/liked/fell in love with) - for now at least. haha

The special talked about Kate and William and how they grew up in their own lives. They are both talented, intelligent, worldly people. At some point, their paths crossed and it sparked a love affair. They have stayed together (They sorta had a on-and-off relationship. The reason was mostly due to the media making a big deal over everything) and truly do love each other. I think it's wonderful that even though she is a "commoner",  it really doesn't matter to the Queen. She just wants her grandson to be happy! It goes to prove that it doesn't matter what label a person is born with or has. What matters is who she really is. Nonetheless, through obstacles and waiting (9 YEARS OMG) they are together at last! Awwww how cute!

I adore them both together! She is so pretty and he's a cutie. Like what better pair can you think of? Honestly?!

See if you can find the special and watch it when you do! In the mean time, I will be getting some extra sleep so when I wake up early as early as 4am to watch the wedding, I don't fall asleep!

Lovely dreaming and wishing,
Kara Jae

P.S. Everyone has a prince/princess out there, you just have to look hard enough to find them :)

#SPRINGBREAK

Hello my lovelies,
P.S. - in advance, I plan on making this a long post (for no particular reason) I just have many random things that I would like to fill you in on that has to do with my life.

So.....

WOO HOO!

SPRING BREAK IS HERE!

I swear I can breathe now! haha

Friday was color wars at my school (it's like a field day). It was so much fun, but a little chilly. I spent the day with my friends and took tons of pics :)

But, I think the whole day I was more concerned about all the things I would be able to do now that break is here. My mind has been everywhere from needing to go shopping to wanting to take some time to make a few fashion sketches *Fun Fact* (yes, I sketch fashion designs and have since I was in the 8th grade)! However, I still have to focus on preparing for the SATs which are coming up soon.... the one in May is slowly approaching and being that I am procrastination's #1 fan, it's hard for me to actually start my work.

So what can I fill you in on? Well, recently I've been thinking about my favorite comedians and people who are just hysterical. I've figured out that I'm obsessed with Jimmy Fallon. He is just so funny and I don't know what it is, he just makes me laugh until my stomach hurts! I love his show and now try to make an attempt to watch it whenever it's on lol. Another favorite comedian of mine is Ellen DeGeneres. Seriously, that woman is amazing. Everything she says, every word that comes out of her mouth is just hysterical. I love how she can truly make ANYTHING funny. I would love to be on her show one day and I would love to take this opportunity now and just make a shout out to her. So Ellen, if you ever come across this and read it, I hope you know that I would love to be on your show.... I'm seriously considering putting "get on Ellen Show" on my bucket list. Thank you for your time and for reading this. Sincerely, Kara Jae
haha.

Recently I've been in love with Kendall Jenner. I'm so jealous of that girl. She is so beautiful and has the longest legs known to mankind. I always wished I had really long legs or that I would be 5'9, but 5'5 is horrible isn't that bad. I love her style and the face that she doesn't have to pile on the makeup for a natural everyday look. She is naturally pretty. He modeling skills are insane - I would love to meet her one day.

Talking about style, I'm loving Hailee Steinfeld. She was the little girl who was nominated for an OSCAR at the age of 14 (yeah no joke) for True Grit. I really want to see that movie solely for the purpose to see her. From what I have heard, she did an amazing job and it was a true accomplishment. I also love her style. She isn't scared to wear anything different because she dresses for herself without caring what US Weekly or the media will say about her. She's just one of those girls that if I knew, I would want to be her friend. I hope I get to meet her one day and truly wish the best for her! She has such a future ahead of her!!

OMG I could not forget about my current JAM of the moment. JESSIE J is my music inspiration. Nobody's Perfect is my fav song at the moment and I just cannot stop abusing the replay button. Ugh, she is just to amazing. Her video for the song just came out and it is pretty awesome - go check it out for sure! Oh and my friend just bought her CD so I will be borrowing that from her pretty soon- more like tomorrow.
A new musician that I think is not recognized is Example (yes that's his name). Listen to Changed the Way you kissed me and Two Lives by him (Example) he's really good and his songs are kinda addicting - **beware** haha

OHH RANDOM SIDE note: check out my tumblr if you haven't http://missny09.tumblr.com/. I love it and Tumblr is just an amazing idea. The man who created it, well, YOU ROCK haha

I just started to make a list of my favorite models and I'll share them with you now haha because what's the point of making a list if I'm not going to use it for anything?... Anyway, my all time favorite is Miranda Kerr. She is just amazing and always knows the perfect pose. She has a organic cosmetic line that you guys should check out it's called Kora Organics, go look at it! Oh and she just had a son. Flynn so congrats Miranda and Orlando (ahh what a beautiful couple)
My other favorite model is Kendall Jenner, but I already mentioned her..... Emily Didonato is a fairly new model. She is only 17 and is Maybelline's main model girl. I'm jealous of her eyes. I want them (that sounds creepish, but y'all know what I mean) haha But, look at her stuff, she is unbelievable. Another favorite model happens to be a man hehe... his name is Francisco Lachowski. If you've never seen him, well stop what you are doing and google him NOW. He is literally a god. Bless him for being that good-looking! haha

Well, I think all of my interesting life stories have been told (even though they aren't stories - more like facts or statements, uhh let's use tidbits) I hope this fed your hunger of a real blog. It feels good to write this. I miss writing so much, but expect more blogs to be published now because I have some down-time.

Miss you darlings and come back for more!

Always,
Kara Jae

Wake up girls! It's time to put your makeup on!

Hey Beauties!

Hope everyone is well! I miss you guys! I love blogging so much and when I finally have free time I jump at the chance to post something!

I was thinking about what to blog about and a great idea popped into my mind. When I was in my school play this past November, I had a double role. No not as a character. We’re talking behind the scenes. I was an actress (chorus member) in the play, but backstage doubled as a makeup artist. Haha weird.

I never thought I would ever say that (or in this case write), but I think it’s kind of cool.

I never used to wear makeup. I was only 14 when I started putting it on and literally, I started with mascara.  It was a challenge learning how to do makeup. There were so many things to do.  Put it on. Take it off. And so many questions to answer: How much to put on? When to put it on? What colors to use? What products and companies to get things from?

Yeah.

How could all of these questions be answered when I hadn't really used makeup that much before?

Well after 3 years, a lot of practice, and accumulated knowledge, I know the answers to the questions and can put on a face of makeup in less than a minute (Not bad huh? But then again it does depend on where I am going.) haha

So, if you haven't figured it out by now, this post is going to be about makeup.......

To start off, all of the products I use are from MAC Cosmetics. They are one of the best makeup companies around. Now, of course, not every single thing in your makeup bag has to be MAC, but the main products (foundation, primer, blush, eye shadows [some], and bronzer) should be. You can get different eye shadows or mascaras from other places, but I would recommend MAC first (they tend to be a bit on the expensive side, so if you can find a cheaper alternative, I’m sure it will work too).

I'm not going to get into how to apply foundation or eyeshade the perfect way, or what you should use first or what colors for eyes, but I will share with you some of my FAVORITE makeup artists who know how to apply it the proper way. I admire them so much and are mentors to me.

Kandee Johnson and Mario Dedivanovic are the best. Check out Kandee's Blog and YouTube channel (I think it's KandeeJohnson) and Mario's blog http://blog.makeupbymario.com/
They all give such great guidance and help you understand the basis of applying makeup and how to use it. Kandee has replicated a lot of "celebrity looks" so if you are looking for a particular color, or style check out her stuff. Mario really explains the use of makeup and how to apply it. They are both great people to keep an eye on and take makeup advice from.

As for makeup ideas or different looks... start anywhere. You have a web of knowledge right at your finger tips. Use pictures of celebrities or models that you like to base a look you like from. Once you find one, see if you can replicate it.

Here are some pictures of makeup looks that I love:

I think the best way to really become good at doing makeup is practice. You will achieve the perfect look where you feel most comfortable through trial and error. Eventually, it will all become second nature to you. Once you become more comfortable with applying makeup, you can experiment more!

I might post a blog of stuff that's in my makeup bag soon! So stay tuned

With love and beautiful faces,

It's Burlesque!

Over the weekend I watched Burlesque. For the 5th time...

crazy, right?

Nope! It is such an awesome movie I could watch it over and over again (clearly haha). It stars Cher and Christina Aguilera in the movie. Christina is one of my all time favorite singers and it was great to see her dance and sing in such a colorful, fun, exciting movie!

She looked completely different - strawberry blonde hair, bangs, and barely no make up on - a look that is clearly nottraditional for her. However, she looked phenomenal! It was a much fresher look and she pulled it off well! The music was amazing and right after watching the movie, I downloaded like half the songs to itunes lol. Also, the costumes were so pretty and sparkly and the sets were unbelievable!

The movie as a whole was perfect... everything was great and Christina's flawless voice made me love it even more. She gives me the chills when she sings because she is just sooooo good!

Everyone go out and see the movie if you haven't. It's WORTH IT!

with love,

Fashion Time

Hello Loves!

Today is fashion post day! wooohoo . . .

I'm going to focus on pants and leggings before winter is officially over (which I hope it will be soon), because then it's all about shorts!

Here we go
Pants and leggings. Honestly, I think that they are your best option to choose when going out at night and having to decide what to wear. Sometimes it might be too cold out to put on a skirt or dress, so choosing pants and leggings are a great choice!

This outfit is a perfect, basic example. The outfit as a whole is a great look to wear when going out to a causal place. The button down shirt gives it a nice, crisp look and the black circle scarf adds warmth and a wintry feel to it. The leggings pull this outfit in and look great with the shirt. The boots are my fav haha but the motorcycle style boots look great on this edgy looking outfit all together. To jazz it up a bit, you can add some big bulky bracelets (neutral colors I would say: i.e. gold, silver, bronze, metallic black).

I really like this outfit. As you can see, the leggings are the main part to this outfit. They provide as a great "pant" and makes it easy to get dressed for going out. The boots are great because they have that hard, black, moto boot look to it, but with the heel it dresses up the outfit a little more. The sweater is so cute and great for warmth and the bag and bracelets really finish the look off nice

This next picture shows another example of how to wear leggings when going out. This outfit is so simple, with just black jeggings and a white shirt, but all you need to add is a trendy little bag (like the feather one shown above), some long necklaces and maybe a stone bracelet to complete the look. Whether you are trying to pull off a fancy or just trendy look add either tall army boots are a big platform heel boots. They can make the world's difference by just adding a heel or going flat footed.

I love these leggings. When you search for a great pair of leggings, look for this type. The top looks like a pant, but inside the knees is leather. This is such a cool, stylish piece of clothing that you can wear over and over again making a different look each time. You can dress it down by adding a tshit on top, just wearing a sweat shirt like the girl shown above did, or add a nice flowy or fancy top to dress it up.

Have a great day with an amazing stylish looks!

Nicki Minaj - Super Bass

I love her and this song!

Style by Lauren Conrad - Follow up!

Hey guys!

Sorry I haven't been so current on blogging. My schedule keeps getting busier!

I remember I promised to write about how the book Style by Lauren Conrad was.

Well, I finished it, and my review is very short: two simple words -- get it. Take it out of the library, buy it, or borrow it from someone! It is well worth the read!

In the book, Lauren explains the basics of shopping (helping you decided what is a good buy, or when to put down that shirt that you THINK you want), and also how to "re-vamp" your wardrobe. Other chapters include beauty (makeup), jewelry (when to wear a long necklace, and what kind of earrings to shop for), what to pack when traveling and what to wear when traveling, and also how to style your hair. All of the topics are great to read about  and become familiar with so your "getting ready" process, or "wardrobe closet" can change.

Safe to say, if you buy this book, you will be investing in not only a great book, but a shopping/beauty guide which can come in handy in future years.

With love,
Kara Jae

P.S. I'll try to be posting more often if only school wasn't so crazy . . .

Happy Valentines Day!

For those of you who may be home alone today, or those who are smothered in love - Happy Valentines Day!

Some might say that today is the best day to express how your love and how you feel about someone without looking like a fool. Others might have thrown an "I hate Valentine's Day" party. haha (I'm with them) I don't have a Valentine today, so I'll be my OWN valentine :)

On a different note, I wanted to let everyone know how much I love them! Everyone is important no matter who or what they are. You are loved and we all care about you! Don't forget to tell your loved ones, friends, and family how much you love them today!

With tons of love, hearts and kisses,
Kara Jae

Enrique Iglesias!

Hey Guys!

It's been a long time since my last post! (at least it feels like it) haha . . .

I've been super busy lately with school, college meetings, and weekend plans that I haven't had the time to sit down and just blog.

But I MUST catch you up on what I've been doing :)
I'll spare you the details about school, they are boring and who wants to read about school? not me.

First, I watched what is now my current favorite movie. The Social Network. I was hooked the whole movie. I loved the story line, the humor and of course, the cast! Once it was over, I couldn't wait to watch it again! Haha

On Friday,  I went to Starbucks with my friend to chat about a couple things...

Then, on Saturday Feb 5th, I went into the city to see ENRIQUE IGLESIAS!! Ahh! The concert started at 8:00 and opened with Jay Sean. Before we walked over to Madison Square Garden,  (from Harrington's Bar where we ate), we stopped into Forever 21. Of course, I bought something. How could I not? haha I picked up a really pretty ring and flower leggings! YES I FOUND FLOWER LEGGINGS! I was looking for them for forever this season! You have no IDEA how happy I was! It was a great shopping moment!

After our shopping spree, we walked back over to the Garden and waited for Enrique to come on. Jay Sean opened with his songs: Down, Do you Remember, 2012, and his new hit single which he hadn't performed any where else, Hit the Lights! (Check it out on YouTube, it's greaaaaat)!

Then at about 9, Enrique came on and AH! I get the chills thinking about it! He sang all of his great songs and we sang along, danced, and screamed when he would smile ... because oh my goodness! He is just SO cute!

Here are a few pictures from the concert:

It was a fantastic day in the city with friends watching enrique iglesias in concert! I couldn't have asked for a better day :)

With enrique iglesias love,

The Truth?

I only trust 2 people in my life. And I’m happy with that.

You know how there are those people who might say to you “You should be lucky that I trust you?” Well they are wrong. THEY should be the ones who feel lucky because they can trust YOU.

We all have that one person (or in my case, two), people that you can tell anything to. You know that they won’t judge you, or control you. They don’t take you for granted. They love you for who you are and you feel so lucky to have them. I am so thankful for that and more…

So what am I most thankful for? The truth. Sometimes it’s the truth you’ve been trying not to face, or the truth that will change your life. Sometimes it’s the truth that’s a long time coming. Or the truth that you prayed would never see the light of day. Some truths may not be heard the way we hoped they would. But they linger, long after they’ve been said. But the kind of truth I’m most thankful for? The kind you never see coming, that falls right into your lap.

Lauren Conrad

Heyy!

So for those people who watched the drama filled series, "The Hills" you are probably familiar with Lauren Conrad. Style icon and business woman by day, and party girl by night, she came out with several books since she finished filming the Hills series.

She has written:

L.A. Candy

 Sweet Little Lies
an L.A. Candy Novel

Sugar and Spice
an L.A. Candy Novel

However, she wrote another book dedicated to fashion. It's called Style, and I've decided to read it and see what she talks about and everything. lol
I promise to blog about it when I'm done...it doesn't seem that long and hopefully it will be worth it. haha

Off to reading,
Kara Jae

It's Over! They are Done!

It's Over! The studying, the stress, the staying up until all hours of the night ... Finished!

I swear, it feels like such a hUge weight was just lifted off my shoulders and it feels amazing!

Out of all the years I've been in high school, all the midterms weren't bad, but this year was torture not as easy as the rest.

BUT I don't want to talk about school. Honestly, it bores me (I'm yawning right now).

I'm done with this post.

(P.S. I made a really funny video when I was studying for my Spanish midterm.... I haven't decided if I will put it up yet because I will admit - It's embarrassing, but extremely funny haha).

Do something for yourself today!

With a Smile,
Kara Jae

Fur Vests, Blazers, and Leather Jackets

Winter is cold. Obviously. lol It can cause the most stress for fashionistas when trying to pick out the right outfit that looks cute and also keeps you warm. Luckily, you can put blazers and other jackets or vests on to keep you warm while still staying stylish.

Here are some good picks of blazers, leather jackets, and fur vests for the winter:

This is a perfect winter look. The blazer matches great with the shirt and is pulled together in a great hipster way. Even if it's cold outside, the blazer can help you pull off the outfit while keeping you warm without putting a huge winter coat on! (This look is more for November weather...I wouldn't recommend wearing it when there is a blizzard outside. With common sense (we hope), you would wear something warmer. Much warmer. A winter coat would be the choice for this outfit [given that weather condition]) lol

Omg x2... I Looove this outfit. Where do I start?! The blazer shown above is the perfect combination for a stylish look that covers bear arms in the cold weather. It has a great pattern that can really be worn with anything. Love it!

Ah! I'm craving this outfit! The over sized blazer, motorcycle boots, floral leggings, big bag.... it's heaven! (If you haven't figured by now, I'm in love with flower leggings...it's been my quest of the season to find the most perfect pair)! haha the blazer goes great with this outfit making it trendy and at the same time a little more chic then casual. The jacket gives it that extra "hit the spot" item that makes the outfit pop.

Awww. This outfit is adorable, but I picked it out to make note of the shirt and dog the fur blazer. They make an outfit look so fashionable and can really add style to it. (Back in my Dim Sum post, I put a pic up of what I wore. I had on a black fur vest... I wear it to death and makes all my outfits look great)! Anyways, fur vests are great toppers to spice up that "going out look". Through on a cool pair of jeans, and any shirt.... add the fur blazer, some high pumps, a long necklace, and some knock-out bracelets and there you have a perfect outfit :)

You have no idea. None. Not even a wee bit of how much I love this outfit. The blazer I think is what makes it ...the pants of course are amazing and the tie-dye color shirt underneath the lace/fringe shirt makes it look so fun! Five stars for this outfit and blazer loving styles :)

Leather

They keep you warm and makes an outfit look so chic...what more do you need?

I have a leather jacke and it"s a dark brown color. It works great with everything I wear and a leather jacket should do the same for you.  In the picture above, I like the scarf that was paired with it. You can layer warm shirts and match nice scarfs with it too! Make sure that if you go to pick out a jacket, that it is a neutral color that you can wear with anything. This way, you will be able to get a lot of use out of it! :)

So have fun with toppers....they can turn and outfit from casual/work to party/chic in a matter of 10 seconds!

Enjoy your winter season hopefully feeling warm and stylish at the same time!

Your Blazer Friendly friend,
Kara Jae

MIDterms and Regents

My brain is fried.

NO. Literally. like fried oreos at the jersey shore

                   F R I E D.

I started to make a new post last week, but I got involved in studying so I had to stop. Today was my third exam (it was American history 0_o don't ask.) I have one more tomorrow and then two more next week then I'm freeee!

I have to say, it's almost like we have off, but with cramming. tons and tons of cramming. We just go in for the two hour exams (8:30 to 10:30) and then we are done. GO back home and study some more... or if you're like me... go on tumblr, check out the new show skins on mtv, rest for two hours, and blog. THEN study.

Tomorrow I have physics. Dun dun duuuun. haha. I don't see a bright future for this test. Hopefully I won't ever need physics again in my life. ever. But, if I don't stop blogging and don't start studying there is going to be a a tornado coming for me and it won't be like Dorothy where she gets hit on the head and wakes up in a pretty magical town where she meets small, but nice people and makes friends while they walk on the yellow brick road.

To be quiet honest, I don't know WHAT it would be like, but I don't want to find out and I don't intend to anytime soon.

SOOO

off to studying... wish me luck on my exam tomorrow!

You're fried-brained friend,
Kara :)

CUPCAKES.

Good evening blog readers :)

I haven't done a food post yet so I thought I would tell you about my favorite things . . .

CUPCAKES.

They are my life. I don't like birthday cake; I won't eat it, but cupcakes I WILL EAT haha

Over the summer, my sister went to a camp at Penn State and my mom, dad, and I stayed in an adorable inn 5 mins away. When we were there for a couple days, we ventured around the town going into shops, exploring the area, did some shopping, and eating at different restaurants

We came across a place called *ndulge.... they had the most AMAZING cupcakes I have ever had!! The display was beautiful from the wrapping that held the cupcake to the icing and toppings. They had the best cake part and the icing tasted like heaven. The flavors ranged from Amaretti for Cherry, to Chocolate Moussetachio and many more! Safe to say, every time we passed the shop, we bought some! I fell IN LOVE with them (and of course my mom and dad did as well) lol

You MUST visit this place and eat their cupcakes! Check out their website .....

http://www.ndulgecupcakes.com/

These are a couple of the ones we had... I tried to snap a good picture of them, but they are so much better looking in person haha: (going clockwise) in the front is Amaretti for Cherry, to the left, is The Chocoholic, Coconut sCream, Chocolate Moussetachio, and Red Velvet

YUMMY! :)

With love and cupcakes,

Kara Jae

Big Sweaters and Cardigans

During the winter, a big sweater or warm cardigan can come in handy. While trying to stay stylish, but warm on those extremely cold days, pick out a long cardigan or sweater with a pattern or design. Here are some examples:

This is a really interesting sweater. It gives a great color and pop to the outfit while still giving you warmth! haha

This huge, bulky sweater has such a pretty pattern on it! It can help you dress up a look (add a black, winter dress underneath with tights and heels) or it can keep you warm on a casual day, (Put on some grey acid wash jeans and black/navy blue military boots with a thermal shirt) and stay comfortable all day long.

Ahhhh! Ok, I loooove this sweater so much! It has been my goal and fashion "look-for" this year! I'm still searching for a perfect leopard sweater (The one in the picture is from a store in Australia so I don't think I will  be getting that anytime soon haha) It goes great with blacks and bones and gives such a flare to that "regular, plain" cardigan that everyone has.

It might be hard to see the actual design of this cardigan so I tried to enlarge it ....

Aaaalright. That's better, I think...... haha anyways, I love this sweater so much. (Btw, to me, sweaters and cardigans are the same thing lol so don't mind if I use the words interchangeably lol) This vintage 80s gemmed cardigan is from Penelope's Vintage (such a cute store ... check it out) The blue color allows you to pair it with dark colors which can help brighten up the "dull and dark" winter looks. Put a nice necklace on and some matching earrings and you are set with the stylish, and perfect outfit for winter!

Always staying warm and being stylish,

Kara Jae
